LeapFrog Leapster was introduced in 2003 is an educational touchscreen, handheld gaming device, which includes a stylus for easy use, aimed at 4-10 year olds. Leapster games teach the alphabet, phonics, basic math, art and animal facts. The Leapster is currently the best-selling educational handheld educational device sold in the United States.
In an annual survey conducted by ConsumerQuest involving more than 1,000 parents of children ranging from birth to eleven years of age, 66% of those parents agreed that using educational video games can be positive influence and can give their children an educational advantage. Nancy MacIntyre, LeapFrog’s Executive Vice President of Product, Innovation and Marketing states that “Providing educational products that teach and are also just plain fun, LeapFrog is helping today’s kids to develop a love of learning. And that’s something that will last a lifetime.”
